Workout-wise, I've been running a lot, partly because I'm too lazy to drive to the gym in the morning before work and partly because my cross-country-crazed siblings are always running anyway. I am constantly reminded how lucky we are in Boston to have no hills. Hills hurt a lot. I have done some erging as well though, and a few yoga and pilates classes. In my first yoga class I was trying to balance on my hands and I landed directly on my face and it was very embarrassing. I'm hoping nobody recognizes me tomorrow. I've also been able to get out in a double a few times with a friend of mine who rows for the lightweight men's team at Virginia Tech, which has been exciting! Although the decision to put me in bow when I know nothing about: a.) the traffic patterns on the reservoir and b.) sculling, was maybe not the smartest. But I have blisters on my left hand now whoo!! We might take out a couple singles later this week, and we're trying to round up enough people to take out a four or an eight soon.
I also went hiking with my family at Great Falls this past weekend - that's a national park along a stretch of the Potomac River between Virginia and Maryland which has a bunch of rapids and little waterfalls. This is us taking a little break:
This weekend we're going to Old Rag, which is a little mountain with a long hiking/rock-climbing trail. Since it is supposed to be approximately nine bazillion degrees this weekend, that should be interesting. I'll try to post again after that (sweaty) adventure...

It's like a bajillion degrees here too! I hate it. I drank 64oz of gatorade yesterday. Not even while I was working out. Just while I was sitting in my room sweating and sweating. Actually, it reminds me of DC.
ReplyDeleteNo AC? Yeah it seriously gets muggy as anything here... except randomly today it is 65 and breezy?? WTF I don't understand weather.
