Sooo I sort of went rowing!

Well, not really but it was totally awesome! My dad is here to visit me for the 4th of July weekend, and yesterday we went on a 6 hour rafting trip. 16 miles down the Merced River. I fell out once haha. The day before, we hiked to the top of Upper Yosemite Falls and back, it took about 6 hours. It was really awesome. I think California is my new favorite state.

During the week, I play soccer for a few hours with the guys from work twice a week, and run on the days when there's no soccer. They're all really good, because they're like all German, and they also don't care that I'm a girl, so I get knocked down a lot. It's super fun. I'll try not to get injured though ;P I'm really really sore right now, but I have to get unsore fast because I'm going rafting AGAIN with my work on Wednesday.

We should do a crew rafting trip right when school starts. A boat full of rowers would be so awesome. We would be so good, because you still have to paddle together and stuff! There are some really good places in Maine and some closer too, like Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

I am going to try to make it up to Bair Island Aquatic Center at some point hopefully soon and try and see if I can scull a little, but it's pretty far. I have to take the train for about 25 minutes and then walk or run 2 miles to get to the boathouse.

Happy 4th of July everyone! I'm going to find a hot dog today.

  1. Actually. The powers above have vetoed crew rafting trips haha. However, I am probably going camping in Maine the week before school starts. It MIGHT involve things other than sleeping in tents. You're welcome to join me ;P

  3. For the record....I am 100% in support of a crew rafting trip. AND its much safer than snowboarding.

Melody PLEASE do not injure yourself. We dont want to re-open the injury club.

  5. I love that the only two people who are gung-ho about rafting are the two people who should not go anywhere near sharp pointy things under any circumstances (sirsumvrentstances). Don't run with scissors!
